1. GALLERY GUIDE
The Harn Museum of Art is looking for responsible, curious, outgoing and enthusiastic students, who enjoy working with people, to volunteer for our Gallery Guide program. Gallery Guides are trained student volunteers who provide friendly, informative and personal experiences to museum visitors throughout the galleries. Through this program, students will get to know the collection, gain public speaking experience, and help create a welcoming environment for our visitors. For more information, contact Laura Moore, Visitor Services Manager at 352.392.9826 x2146 or firstname.lastname@example.org
2. MUSE (MUSEUM UNIVERSITY STUDENT EDUCATORS)
For creative, energetic and dynamic students, the MUSE program offers the opportunity to share your love of fun and passion for art with others. MUSEs (Museum University Student Educators) are one-semester Harn Museum of Art volunteers who create and present interactive and engaging experiences for museum visitors.
Each Fall, Spring & Summer term, a select group of 10–15 students from diverse academic backgrounds work together to imagine and produce programs unlike any others at the museum. MUSE programs have included Art off the Wall, when MUSEs shared their interpretation of works in the collection through costumes and drama, surrealist story-telling, and interpretive musical presentations. In other words, as a MUSE you get to reinvent how we look at art and experience the museum!
MUSE planning meetings are Thursdays from 3:30 to 5pm, and MUSEs take the stage on Museum Nights, the second Thursday of each month. Santa Fe student volunteers are eligible for volunteer parking permits.
Visit harn.ufl.edu to preview exhibitions that inspire!
(Don’t delay – APPLY NOW for the Spring 2015 semester. Applications will be considered until the program is full–typically late December.)
